(Erie News Now) Keep Erie County Beautiful is in need of volunteers to participate in the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), the world’s largest volunteer effort to remove and record trash from local lakes, waterways, beaches and the ocean.

The cleanup will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 21. There are 16 cleanup locations across Erie County waterways for this event.

Volunteers can register for the site of their choice by visiting Erie County’s website.

According to organizers, there will be a coordinator at each site and free gloves and bags for volunteers. Volunteers should dress for the weather, including protective gear such as closed toed shoes, a hat, sunscreen and bug spray.
