Boy Scout Troop To Adopt Mountain Run Road Through Keep PA Beautiful Program

(The Courier Express) Boy Scout Troop 26 B plans to adopt Mountain Run Road in Sandy Township and Huston Township through the Keep PA Beautiful program.

At Monday’s meeting of the Sandy Township Supervisors, Manager Shawn Arbaugh informed the supervisors of the adoption of the road, and the only requirement is that the township would have to install a post and attach signage along the road. The Keep PA Beautiful program will provide the signage.

“The Boy Scout Troop would conduct cleanups twice a year,” said Arbaugh. “We would coordinate with them (Troop) that they could use our facilities when we do our Earth Day cleanup each year in April.”

Keep PA Beautiful “has been a great program that we partner with,” said Arbaugh. “They supply the trash bags, the vests and gloves so I think they do that for everybody that adopts a highway.”
