What is Pick Up Pennsylvania?
Pick Up Pennsylvania’s participation in the national Great American Cleanup is sponsored by Keep America Beautiful. Registered events can get free cleanup supplies such as bags, gloves, and vests donated by PennDOTPennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection  and Keep America Beautiful. The Great American Cleanup goes from March 1st to May 31st every year.


What is Free or Reduced Cost Disposal?
Free or Reduced Cost Disposal is a one month long event during April that is a part of Pick Up Pennsylvania. Sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Pennsylvania Waste Industries Association, and participating landfills, registered events can be eligible for reduced or free disposal for their cleanups with prior landfill authorization. Once you register your event you will have access to the list of participating landfills. Please note this Free and Reduced Disposal is contingent upon funding, state and industry coordination, landfill capacity, and that the list of participating landfills may change at any time. Who can take part in community cleanups?
Local government leaders, business and trade organizations, community groups and ordinary citizens may take part in community cleanups.

How do I register my group to conduct an event in my community?
To register your group, visit our Register Event page, fill out the form, and click the submit button.

Where can I find information on cleanup safety?
Cleanup safety information is available on the Organize an Event page. PennDOT also has a video that documents how to do a cleanup safely called Beautify PA Safely.  To obtain a copy of the video, contact Carl Wesneski, Manager of Highway Beautification Programs,  at 717-705-1552.


Where do I report the results of my cleanup?
Report your results directly on the Pick Up Pennsylvania website. Just click on Report Your Results. Information on the success of your event is very important and helpful to both Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful and the national Keep America Beautiful, Inc. so please take a moment to report your results!


Who do I contact if I can’t find someone to haul the trash my group collects?
