Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful’s research, The Cost of Litter & Illegal Dumping in Pennsylvania, revealed that just nine cities across the Commonwealth spend more than $68 million each year combating litter and illegal dumping, resources that could otherwise support public safety, education, infrastructure, and vital community services like parks and recreation. This diversion of funds hampers local enhancements and stifles economic growth.
Across Pennsylvania, an estimated 502 million pieces of litter line our streets, parks, and public spaces. According to our research, 80% of those expenses go toward cleaning up; removing bottles, cans, tires, cigarette waste, mattresses, and plastic packaging-items that could be recycled or prevented at the source through education and better waste management.

Many businesses match employee donations to non-profit organizations, like Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, through an employee giving program. In-Kind Donations
