NorthcentralPA.com – With warmer weather, longer days, fresh spring flowers, and mass layoffs, many people are turning to the outdoors for some light exercise and peace of mind. That’s great! Less great is the litter that wanderers are leaving behind in Pennsylvania’s parks, neighborhoods, and forests.
Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, an organization dedicated to keeping the Commonwealth clean, is asking residents to leave the great outdoors in the same condition or better than when they arrived.
“We’re heartened by many stories of residents getting outside and reconnecting with their neighborhoods, parks and trails. Unfortunately, there’ve also been stories of people leaving litter, dog waste and even graffiti behind in state parks and forests and other places,” said Shannon Reiter, President of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful.
