In Celebration of America Recycles Day, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Provides Recycling Education Grants to Affiliates

(November 12, 2020) America Recycles Day (ARD), a program of Keep America Beautiful, is held on and around November 15 to educate and encourage individuals to be more mindful of what they consume, where and how to properly recycle and to pledge to recycle more and recycle right in their everyday lives.

Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, with support provided by the Richard King Mellon Foundation, provided grants totaling $20,000 to five affiliates to increase awareness about proper waste disposal and recycling and convenient recycling services available in their county.

  • PA CleanWays of Elk County will create an informational flyer that will be mailed to all county residents to promote the county’s Community Recycling Center. The center provides convenient, affordable access to recycling and is open to all residents three days a week. More information about the Recycling Center can be found on their website, http://www.co.elk.pa.us/index.php/recycling-center.
