Volunteers of the Year

Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful believes that by engaging volunteers, we extend the reach of our educational efforts and multiply the impact of our actions.

Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful’s “Affiliate Volunteers of the Year Program” is a recognition program for KPB and local KAB Affiliates. Through this statewide program, each affiliate can honor an outstanding volunteer.

Allegheny CleanWays – Richard Grace

Richard Grace is a key volunteer for DumpBusters, rarely cancels, works the hardest jobs in all circumstances, is uncomplaining, smart, and strong. He is the consummate team player, and adds greatly to DumpBusters effectiveness and interfacing with neighbors. All volunteers enjoy working with him, and he will do the dirtiest jobs without a word. He also has an infectious sense of humor.

   Keep Blair County Beautiful – Frank Hibernik
Frank Hibernik has been a dedicated volunteer for all of Keep Blair County Beautiful’s one day drop-off events in 2015.  He first started volunteering with the affiliate in spring of 2015 and has not missed a collection. Frank promotes the events to his network, arrives early to assist with set-up, works diligently all day long at any task, and is the last volunteer to leave.  He has been an invaluable asset to the affiliate this year.  He is personable with the public, ready to pitch in anywhere needed and dedicated to keeping our community clean and beautiful..

PA CleanWays of McKean County has nominated Jodi Tanner for the 2015 volunteer of the year. Jodi is the contact with McKean County Adult Probation. The majority of volunteers for all PA CleanWays of McKean County events come from adult probation. Thanks to Jodi’s efforts since 2005, the group has garnered over 300 volunteers with over 1000 volunteer hours and collected 17 tons of trash, 9,400 tires and completed 4 electronic collection events. Without Jodi’s assistance, PACW of McKean County would not be able to accomplish nearly as much. PACW of McKean County is very grateful for her volunteer recruitment and wishes to reward her efforts with the Volunteer of the Year Award.
PA CleanWays of Mifflin County – Earl Tabb
PA CleanWays of Mifflin County has namedEarl Tabb as Volunteer of the Year for 2015. Earl has been a volunteer with PACleanWays of Mifflin County during many of their cleanups and Tire Recycle Events through the years. Earl has helped with the last four River Cleanups by offering his truck and trailer to haul tires from the river site up to the truck to be loaded and taken in for recycling. He is an active meeting participant and is helping to plan future cleanups.
Keep Royal Gardens Beautiful – Tracylea Byford and Project M.E.O.W
Tracylea Byford and Project M.E.O.W. (Make Everyone Wanted) a cat rescue organization in West Philadelphia. In addition to illegally dumped trash, Royal Gardens has become a dumping ground for abandoned cats. Project M.E.O.W finds homes for the adoptable cats and places feral cats in their TNR (trap, neuter, return) program. Keep Royal Gardens Beautiful volunteers care for the released cats, providing shelter, food and fresh water.
