Urban Mural & Landscaping Leadership Program

Fueled by industry like the Reading Railroad, Historic West Reading is another example of a beautiful Pennsylvania city. In 2000, Reading was Pennsylvania's fifth largest city. The City's population and community groups are very active and involved with City's economic recovery.

This summer's project will be a highly visible component of the City's recovery by creating a community mural and leading a group of High School students to improve two hillside projects. The mural will be painted on a rowhome adjacent to one of the hillsides. Similar to the other mural projects, interns will learn how to engage the community in the mural making process. Also, interns will learn mural painting techniques from the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program.
