College Internship Program

Philadelphia, Allegheny East
Urban Design and Planning Project

Allegheny East is an historic working class section of Philadelphia. This area of Philadelphia went through very dramatic population losses between 1990 and 2000. Fortunately, Allegheny East has recently become the focus of many successful economic and community enhancements.

Contributing to the revitalizations efforts afoot in the area, The Hispanic Association of Contractors and Enterprises (HACE) is proposing an urban design and planning project. Interns will work closely with HACE and community members to generate an analysis and design recommendations for one recreational area within the neighborhood. Additionally, interns will be working with HACE and other community partners to plant trees within the recreational area.
