Pennsylvania’s rolling hills, vibrant cities,
and historic cultures make our Commonwealth an exciting and enchanting
place to live, work, and play. Keeping these inherent attributes
of Pennsylvania clean and beautiful takes the head, hands, and
hearts of every Pennsylvania resident, company, and public official.
The problems of litter, illegal dumping, and general disorder
are top quality of life and economic sustainability issues and
for all Pennsylvania communities. Effectively addressing
these focus areas is the fist step a community must take to revitalize
their business districts and neighborhoods.
Academic research, public surveys, and the experience of thousands
of communities across the nation verify this premise.
- A recent study at the Wharton School of Business of the University
of Pennsylvania found, among other things, that planting trees
within 50 feet of houses increased real estate value by 10 percent
and that sale prices of houses rose as much as 30 percent when
the homes were located near vacant lots that had been "cleaned
and greened."
- A public survey by the U.S. Conference of Mayors ranked green
space & gardens one of the top attributes that make a community
an appealing place to live.
- Parks all across the nation report litter
and general un-cleanliness is the biggest reason visitors give
for not returning to a park.
Simply put we would
all rather live, work, or visit near here… |
