Keep Royal Gardens Beautiful, formerly PA CleanWays of Royal Gardens in Morris Park, West Philadelphia, was formed in 2007 with support from local residents concerned about illegal dumping in Morris Park and surrounding areas. As an affiliate of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, we focus on cleanups, educating the public on the detriments of illegal dumping and littering, and beautification of the park with landscaping and plantings.
Since our inception through the end of 2009, Keep Royal Gardens Beautiful has held 20 cleanups removing and properly disposing almost 80 tons of trash! In addition, we have created many garden areas and planted hundreds of various flowers, vegetables, and trees. Keep Royal Gardens Beautiful has an extensive network of volunteers and partnering organizations. Our efforts could not be possible without the support of Fairmount Park, Comcast, Keep Philadelphia Beautiful, Philadelphia Water Department, Darby-Cobbs Creek Watershed Partnership, Morris Park Restoration Association, Philadelphia Youth Advocacy Program, Philadelphia Managing Directors Office, Royal Gardens Association, and many local universities, conservation groups, and businesses! Since our inception, our volunteers have donated almost 3,500 hours! Recently, the students of the Art Institute created a beautiful web page for Royal Gardens Association.
